I swear that November is the fastest month! It’s here and gone in a blink of an eye. I think its because November is a month of change. At the beginning of the month, it’s intense because of finals and moving out, then it ends with holiday cheer and having time at home. Since coming home, I’ve been using November as the month to relax and re-invent myself! Here are some of my favorites from this month:
Turtles All The Way Down
Turtles All the Way Down by John Green is probably one of my favorite novels from him. I am almost finished with the book, only about twenty pages left, and I couldn’t be more excited to finish. It’s a riveting story about a girl who fears that she will get C.Diff, while navigating the ups and downs of high school. TATWD moves pretty quickly, and is not a boring book at all. (I’m trying really hard not to reveal any spoilers.) It’s probably one of the most realistic books I’ve ever read, and I was shook to read Aza’s thoughts that were similar to mine. If you haven’t gotten your hands on this beautiful book, ask for it as a Christmas gift (or a holiday gift, if you don’t celebrate Christmas. 10/10 book).
Forever21 Fall Wear
I am so obsessed with Forever21’s fashion right now. The first step in re-inventing myself was to change-up my style. While in Hong Kong, I was certainly not the most confident person. Looking back, it was because Hong Kong was Fashion City, and I simply didn’t fit in. (Plus I was still wearing clothes from high school, barf.) So, as soon as I got home, I ran to the mall to pick up some pieces to make me feel confident. I am in love with this light pink rosy color combo with dark/forest green. So chic! I am loving skirts right now, and I prefer them over pants.
This is my favorite jacket of all time. I love the warm suede. It’s my favorite color. I can’t get enough of the zippers and buckles. It also can make a simple long sleeve shirt and jeans, like this, look hardcore. This will be the perfect fall outfit when hanging out with friends for a day in the city!
Out of all the outfits, this is my favorite one! I feel so sassy in this outfit, like a ’90s businesswoman. Houndstooth-patterned clothes are something I’m digging right now. It’s so classy and simple. If I had an entire closet of houndstooth clothing, I’d be in heaven. ALSO: can we talk about how mustard is the definition of fall. I love anything that is mustard-color! (*Everything is from Forever21, except for the black circle skirt. That is from H&M!)
Aveeno Eczema Therapy Lotion
As you know from my last post autumn to winter skincare routine, I have been struggling with my skin since coming home from Hong Kong. I’ve started taking oatmeal baths and using oatmeal bars instead of liquid soap, but now I’ve discovered a lotion that’s perfect for my itchy and irritated skin. I love using this after I shower. My skin is left smooth and not itchy, which is such a relief. It can be found pretty much anywhere, even in a drugstore!
My SHORT Hair!!
Last week, I went for the big chop! Let’s just say my hair before wasn’t in the best condition. It didn’t look horrible, but it wasn’t great either. It definitely put a damper on my confidence. Though, as soon as I got it cut, I felt like a new person. With my short hair, I feel as if I can take on the world. I love how it’s low maintainence and I don’t have to worry about it getting caught in my clothes. Change is good, and I’m a fan of this change!
