As I’ve just finished my last Dairy Milk bar, sad to see it go (but know that there’s more across the bridge at the market), I think about the healthy meals I ate this week. Then, I don’t feel as guilty for eating my last Dairy Milk bar. I love watching What I Eat in a Day videos from my favorite YouTubers, and reading these types of posts from my favorite bloggers. It’s so interesting to see how people’s daily meals vary among cultures/lifestyles.
Breakfasts are usually quick, easy, and not too extravagant. I have an 8 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursdays, hardly having any time to make a full breakfast. Though, the day I photographed for this post, it was a cozy and rainy Saturday. I realized that I actually don’t enjoy making breakfast, and much rather keep it simple, or purchase breakfast. Most mornings, I make myself a bowl of original Cap’n’ Crunch, and start on homework assignments.
I do, however, love making lunch. Lunch has always been my favorite meal of the day. There’s something so relaxing about stopping in the middle of the day to indulge in a refreshing meal. My go-to lunch these days is avocado toast, cheese cubes, grapes, and a cup of tea. Lately, I have been replacing sugar with honey for my tea, and it seems to be working well. (I do feel healthier not using white sugar.) This meal is surprisingly filling, and gives me enough energy to last until dinner.
Making dinner is probably one of the most exciting parts of my day. I’ve been kinda obsessing over having spaghetti with diced tomatoes. I also butter my noodles before I put the tomatoes on top. It is SO GOOD. You have to try it. I really can’t stand drinking soda, even though this looks like a soda can. Instead, it’s peach juice with peach-flavored jellies at the bottom. This has to be the best drink I have ever had here in Hong Kong. It can be found at any grocery store or resturant for an inexpensive price. Hands-down my favorite and easiest meal of the day.
And of course, there has to be room for a snack. I will admit I do splurge on Oreos and milk as an after-dinner snack. I will shamelessly eat Oreos after a long day of classes.
Thank you so much for reading this post! I hope you’ve enjoyed.
